Climate Controlled Self-Storage
The first thing you should put into storage is some thought. Let’s think: Empty space, your stuff. The possibilities are endless. But the space isn’t. What do you need to do? Will you need regular access to your items and require an aisle? Will that require a larger space? Or do you go with two smaller units and have easier access to everything? You know, it’s your space. You decide.
Packing Tips
Packing and stacking carefully will minimize the amount of space you'll need and prevent damage. Place frequently used items near the door and valuables in the rear of the unit. Pack heavy items in small boxes to make them easier to carry and place them on the bottom of stacks to prevent any damage to your belongings.
Refrigerators and freezers should be thoroughly dry and stored with doors slightly ajar. Smaller items may be stored inside and on top of large appliances. We recommend cleaning residue off stoves and other appliances before storing.
Clothing, curtains and drapes are best stored on hangers. You can purchase wardrobe boxes for clothes in any of our three convenient store locations. If the items cannot be hung, they should be carefully folded and stored in cedar chests, dresser drawers or cardboard cartons along with bedding and linens.
Pack books flat to protect their spines. Use packing materials, clean towels or news paper to fill out voids in the boxes. Don’t pack fragile items in the same box with books.
Place a layer of padding inside the bottom and the top of boxes containing dishes or glassware. All glass items should be individually wrapped and placed near the top of boxes. Fill all pockets with packing materials. Label boxes “Fragile” containing dishes or glassware, and do not place heavy items on top of them.
Furniture legs can easily be removed from many tables so they take up less space. Stand sofas and mattresses on end, but keep upholstery off the floor. Most lightweight chairs can be stacked "seat to seat" or placed upside down on tables. Finally, place a light cotton dust cover (e.g., a bed sheet) over your furniture or dust covers can be purchased in our store.

- Use furniture drawers for extra storage
- Put breakable items on furniture cushions
- Store long items vertically
- Store glass & mirrors between mattresses
- Place smaller and lighter things on top
- Remember that chairs can hold other chairs
- Group like items as much as possible
- Use hand carts and save your back
